The Faculty of Medicine, Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador, sets to enhance the health of the people of Newfoundland and Labrador by educating physicians and health scientists; by conducting research in clinical and basic medical sciences and applied health sciences; and by promoting the skills and attitudes of lifelong learning.
Our tradition has been to encourage the education of physicians with exemplary skills for rural and regional practice. This is achieved with the support of our full-time and part-time faculty within the academic and community centres as evidenced by the success of our undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing professional development programs in producing clinicians that serve the needs of rural Newfoundland and Labrador and Canada.
